This guide explains how to connect a CAS PDII scale to POS365 so the weight can be transferred directly to the POS during sales.

Step 1:

Connect the CAS PDII scale to the POS device so it can communicate with POS365. This requires connecting the scale to the computer using the correct cable and ensuring the scale is powered on.

For more information, see here:

Connect the scale to the POS device

1) Connect the scale to the POS computer using the correct interface cable

2) Connect the power cable to the scale

3) Turn on the scale

4) Ensure the scale display turns on and shows the weight screen

5) Ensure that 'Type 2 ECR' is selected on the scale

Note:

The CAS PDII scale typically connects using a serial or USB interface depending on the model and adapter used.

Step 2:

Configure the scale settings on the cash register in the Admin Center so POS365 can receive the weight from the connected device.

For more information, see here:

Enable scale on the cash register

1) Open the POS365 Admin Center

2) Go to 'Setup'

3) Click 'Cash registers'

4) Select the cash register connected to the scale

5) Open 'Menu'

8) Click 'OK' to save the changes

Note:

This setup must be configured individually for each cash register that uses a scale.

Step 3:

Select the correct COM port in POS365 so the system can communicate with the connected scale. This ensures the POS reads the weight from the correct device port.

For more information, see here:

Select the COM port for the scale

1) Open POS365 on the cash register

2) Open 'More options'

3) Go to 'Settings'

4) Locate the scale configuration

5) Select the correct COM port for the connected CAS PDII scale

6) Save the settings

Note:

If you are unsure which COM port is used, check the Windows Device Manager to see which port the scale is connected to.

Step 4:

Test the connection to ensure the scale sends the weight to POS365. This verifies that the hardware and configuration are working correctly.

For more information, see here:

Test the scale connection

1) Select a product that uses weight

2) Place the product on the CAS PDII scale

3) Confirm that the weight is automatically transferred to the POS

Note:

If the weight is not transferred to POS365, check the cable connection, COM port configuration, and scale settings.
